Great Bear Rainforest

Spirit Bears in BC, CanadaDeafening silence. It’s one of the things you notice most at certain points of our Great Bear Rainforest boat cruise. That, and the astounding diversity of wildlife that you’ll be treated to day after day.

Bald eagles, Sitka deer and bears – grizzlies, black bears and the rare Spirit Bear. Humpback whales, orcas, Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises and harbour seals. The sounds and sights of these inspiring creatures are a big part of what we feel is one of the top opportunities for eco adventure in British Columbia.

In tune with nature

With opportunities to explore this rich marine environment in a variety of ways – in a kayak, on a hike, on a mountain bike – the Pacific Yellowfin offers our guests an experience they’ll cherish.

Cruising the Great Bear Rainforest – we’ll show you the deep fjords and lush hillsides that are home to a healthy population of bears, including the rare Kermode or Spirit Bear.

Totems & orcas – this expedition balances a look at the First Nations history in this area with the chance to observe wildlife in the untouched wilderness.

Spirit Bears in BC, Canada
Paul Nicklen's picture of the Spirit Bear ranked TOP 6 in the National Geographic's 50 greatest pictures 2011. Paul Nicklen is a renown Canadian and one of the top wildlife photographers in the world, and took this photograph during the ILCP Spoil documentary filming. SPOIL aims at raising awareness about the threat that an oil tanker route project through the Great Bear Rainforest would have on this astounding wildlife. He was accompanied on that day by Marven Robinson, one of our two local guides during this cruise. Marven is a member of the Gitga'at First Nation sustainably living in the Great Bear Rainforest. If you have not seen this documentary, see it here:
