| Day 1 |
Amazing estuaries meet fantastic fjordsArrive at Bella Bella airport and transfer to the Pacific Yellowfin, where your first stop on your Great Bear Rainforest boat cruise is Fiordland Conservancy. This area features Mussel Inlet, a 14-km fjord that is one of the finest examples of glacially gouged fiords on the BC coast and is ringed by sheer granite cliffs of more than 1000 metres.
Home to the Kitasoo First Nations, this area is best experienced from a kayak or boat. You can choose from a guided kayaking trip or an easy hike to introduce yourself to this magnificent part of the world. As with every night on board, Executive Chef Milan Kocourek will prepare your meals with fresh local ingredients and you will have a choice of our wide selection of BC’s finest wines. You will overnight onboard the ship in your cabin of choice. |
| Day 2 |
Bears off the port bowTravel through Queen Charlotte Sound to a major river estuary, important habitat for salmon, grizzly and waterfowl. Explore this area, a nearby waterfall and an undeveloped hot spring by kayak or zodiac. Across the sound an impressive waterfall drops into the channel. The Kitasoo consider this one of the most important fish habitats in the area and it is an ideal location for bear watching (Spirit Bears have been known to appear here). Dinner onboard and overnight.

| Day 3 |
Wildlife viewing at its finestFrom Queen Charlotte Sound, we’ll journey north to Bishop Bay, a vital feeding area for humpback whales in the fall. Today will also be another great opportunity to see a Spirit Bear. A local Gitga’at Guide will take us into the river to search for these special mammals with thousands of spawning salmon running the river below, sharing the spoils with otters, wolf, dear and the ubiquitous bald eagles. Dinner onboard and overnight.

Explore the heart of the Great Bear RainforestExplore Princess Royal Island the fourth largest island on the BC Coast. From Bishop Bay travel west to begin your exploration of this incredible island rich in wildlife and adventure. Dinner onboard and overnight.

Kermode bears at homeMoving on from Hartley Bay, we’ll travel south to Barnard Harbour, a well-protected anchorage which can be the base for several adventures and tours of your choice. This rich marine environment is also home to the Spirit Bear, also known as a kermode bear. Dinner onboard and overnight.

A First Nations community experienceAdditional Spirit Bear viewing can be done here. Tour the village of Hartley Bay and experience the rich culture of this special community. We will have a traditional dinner, village tour and time spent with close friends.

Homeward boundSay farewell to the North Coast as the seaplane arrives to take you back to Bella Bella and Vancouver. (not included)
