The Island is home to a number of accessible public beaches and a landscape that offers everything from a comfortable stroll to a vigorous hike. If you’re visiting around the start of July, the 350 or so residents host an Island-wide Lamb BBQ each year on Canada Day. Take a motorbike or bike ride to the Lighthouse at the southern tip of the island for a picnic lunch. This lighthouse is one of the most photographed places in the Gulf Islands, and is noteworthy for the huge community effort it took to preserve it.
