Seafood
Fresh local seafood is one of the highlights of living in or visiting British Columbia. From the renowned salmon and halibut that have sustained West Coast life for hundreds of years to mussels, scallops, prawns and oysters, you will have it all.
From your line to your plate
Being afloat offers unique opportunities for guests interested in harvesting or catching their own dinner. Fresh-caught salmon, locally harvested mussels and oysters and just-trapped crabs or prawns have all been known to become a meal. Just interested in the eating? That’s perfectly fine too.Seafood, and beyond
While the taste and textures of seafood can be mesmerizing for some, others prefer hardier fare such as beef, pork or vegetarian. To keep everyone satisfied, Chef Milan takes care to prepare a variety of foods, guided by your input before the cruise gets underway.
Favourite seafood creations from past cruises include:
- Seafood chowder –a hearty blend of Vancouver Island Ling Cod, mussels, clams, leek and yukon gold potatoes
- Seared salmon – served with warm fingerling potato salad, mixed greens & a shallot vinaigrette
- Seared scallops – accompanied by a chick pea puree, curried zucchini & thai vinaigrette
- Salmon tartar – served with garlic crostini, soft quail eggs, fried capers & red onion creme fraiche
- Alaskan Black Cod – served with potato gnocchi, assorted seasonal vegetables & glazed in truffle butter
- Rare seared Ahi tuna – served with grilled asparagus, peppers, eggplant & braised fennel in a spiced tomato sauce
