Pacific Yellowfin and the Environment
Caring for British Columbia
The meticulous care and attention to detail taken with the Pacific Yellowfin is matched by our care for our surrounding environment. The waters that the our vessel travels – Desolation Sound, the Gulf Islands and the Great Bear Rainforest – are beautiful because of their pristine nature. We do our utmost to keep them that way.
The Pacific Yellowfin crew have developed systems and processes to ensure we keep the environment we depend on intact and untouched, taking steps such as:- Upgrading many of the systems onboard to enable our vessel to operate at the highest environmental standards;
- Modifying our purchasing policies to ensure that eco-certified products such as Green Seal, Eco Logo and Forest Stewardship Council products are used on board wherever possible;
- Following a strict program of recycling our waste, reusing what we can and reducing waste whenever possible;
- Adopting strict procedures to protect the environment from avoidable risk.
